Curriculum Overview

At Norton St Nicholas School it is our aim to ensure all children have access to a curriculum that is engaging, balanced, broad and ambitious. Our curriculum encourages a desire to learn and ensures pupils know how to learn. They will have the opportunity to learn actively from a focused and clutter-free curriculum that is concentrated on identified key skills and contextualised knowledge in all national curriculum subjects, along with daily physical activity, PSHE and mindfulness.

Children will have a range of planned and reasoned practical learning experiences, where involvement will bring learning to life and enable all children to expand their cultural capital. Strong links will be planned to ensure development, continuity and consistency in language, vocabulary, knowledge and skills within and across year groups and subjects.
