St Nicholas Parent & Teacher Association

Who are the PTA?

St Nicholas PTA are Norton St Nicholas School's Parent & Teacher Association (PTFA). We are a registered charity with the objective of advancing the education of the pupils at the school. 

If you are a parent/guardian of pupil(s), or a member of staff at Norton St Nicholas, then you are a member of the PTA.  If you're an aunt/uncle/grandparent/ member of the local community who would like to support the school, you are also included in our membership.

PTA Events

The PTA organises a variety of fun events throughout the year for the enjoyment of the school community and to raise funds to benefit the children at the school. Popular events have included:

• Fireworks
• Camping Weekend
• Discos
• Easter Fun Day
• Parent Zumba & Mindfulness

We are always happy to have members volunteering to help to organise and run events. If you have ideas for new events that you would like to organise, we would love to hear from you! Email nortonstnicholasPTA@outlook.com or find one of the Committee in the playground.

Funded by the PTA

With the generous support of St Nicholas School families and friends, we have raised funds to benefit the children at the school. Items funded by SNAPS have included:

• Library Refurbishment
• Playground activity trail
• Magazine subscriptions
• Marquee
• Plants and Bulbs
• Playground Equipment
• Sports Team Kit
• Reading Corner Furniture
• Forest School Equipment

How To Help
There are many ways that you can get involved in events and/or help with raising funds for our school:

• Volunteer to organise or help out at an event
• Attend PTA events and encourage your friends to come along too

• Bring your empty ink cartridges & branded toners to the recycling bin by the school office (these are sent to EmptiesPlease* in return for cash)

• Sign up to EasyFundraising* and retailers will donate when you shop online
• Join PTA 100 Club and for just £1 per month you have a chance of winning a cash prize each month (email snaps100club@outlook.com for more info)
• Keep up to date with our news & events by
   - emailing nortonstnicholasPTA@outlook.com & asking to join our mailing list
  - joining PTA Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/SNAPSNews
• Attend PTA committee meetings

The Committee

The PTA is managed by a Committee comprising as a minimum Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. The current SNAPS committee are:

                Chair: Kelly Meadows

                Secretary: Stacey-Jane Madigan

                Treasurers: Joanne Geer & Rachel Forster

We meet regularly to reflect on completed events, plan forthcoming events and make decisions about how the funds that have been raised are used.  All PTA members are welcome (& encouraged) to attend our Committee Meetings. 

Our partnerships

We are proud to be working with Micro Scooters who have donated 3 wheeled scooters and scooter helmets for our children to use. The company also run a ScooterAid scheme whereby they revamp old/unwanted Micro Scooters and send them to good causes across the country – giving thousands of children who may otherwise miss out the chance to play. If you have a scooter you would like to donate the scheme please get in touch with Micro Scooters.
